After twenty years of lending her sculpturing talents to her
father's ceramic business, Vicki Hamilton burst on the scene in the summer of 1982 with
her own buisness, Vicki's Original Designs. What began as a small line
consisting of dramatic art deco type vases and a few dynamic dolls, displayed in a
characteristically stylishly booth, has grown over the last 15 years to a diverse line of
200 dolls.
Vicki specializes in lady fashion dolls that come in sizes from 5'4",
36", 24", 18", 13" the new 11½", with over 140 patterns,
accessories, and wigs. Her line of dolls is a interesting mix of adult fashion dolls,
large babies, and toddlers. Vicki is probably best known to doll crafters for her highly
stylized costumes featured on her slender, fashionable ladies. Since the ladies from
the era in which Vicki specializes wouldn't be seen in a social setting without an escort,
each adult category is provided with a suitable male doll. Vicki's Original Designs also offers many dolls
with a slightly ethnic flavor that, with a little imagination, have been reproduced from
the 12th century up to modern ladies.
True to its tradition of continuous growth and change, Vicki's Original Designs, has expanded its international mold business to now include 11½" finished
dolls and special orders.
Vicki, born in Wichita, Kansas, began studying art
at the early age of ten. Those early private painting and sculpturing lessons with
Hazel Moore Langston branched out into theatrical productions which originated her passion
for period costumes. That passion and artistic ability combined with her great
ambition and desire produce unique, and authentic, dolls which makes each one of Vicki's
creations truly original. |
